Candace is a reenactor and historical interpreter along with being a quilter and historical sewist. Her work is centered on reproducing quilts and clothing from the past, particularly the 18th and 19th centuries. She uses hand and machine sewing to recreate items that would have been used in past eras. For everything before about 1830, this means hand sewing exclusively. After the1830s, the sewing machine comes into use and can be used to recreate items while staying within the correct historical framework. All the items she creates are used for reenactment and teaching purposes
